In Kindergarten, sport is about joyful movement, gentle exploration and meaningful play. Rooted in a learning-through-play approach, children in KG1 and KG2 are introduced to age-appropriate activities that support their natural growth and development in a safe and encouraging environment. Through running, balancing, rolling, ball play and sensory-rich movement experiences, they build coordination and body awareness.
As children move from KG1 to KG2, their experiences gradually become more structured and collaborative, strengthening control, endurance and teamwork. Through activities such as obstacle courses and dribbling games, they develop fine and gross motor skills, learn to listen and follow instructions.Â
Students in Grades 1 to 3 build fundamental movement skills, developing coordination and confidence through age-appropriate fitness and skill enhancement activities. They explore locomotor skills such as running, hopping, skipping and jumping, alongside non-locomotor skills like balancing, bending and stretching.
Manipulative skills including throwing, catching and dribbling are introduced through fun drills and minor games. Through relays, fun races, swimming, basic athletics and group activities, students grow into enthusiastic movers with improved motor skills and a genuine love for physical activity.

Throughout the year, all four houses compete fiercely across a full calendar of intramural events, earning points and trophies in pursuit of the overall championship.
Sub-Junior intramurals are built around fun, participation and discovery. Age-appropriate events help students develop coordination, basic motor skills and a natural enthusiasm for sport, while house representation adds a first taste of team spirit and belonging. Â Our Sub-Junior athletes compete in basketball, table tennis and badminton, with boys also taking to the football pitch and cricket field, while girls add throwball to their sporting calendar. Across both, the focus is on joyful participation, confidence building and laying the foundations of a lifelong love for physical activity.
Junior intramurals introduce structure, strategy and a deeper sense of competition. Students develop sport-specific skills, improve physical fitness and build a strong understanding of rules, discipline and sportsmanship through healthy inter-house rivalry. Junior athletes take to the court in basketball, table tennis, badminton and throwball, with boys extending their competition to football and cricket, while girls bring football 5s and mixed volleyball into the mix. Whether on the court or the field, the emphasis is on skill enhancement, fair play and building strong inter-house teamwork and belonging.
Senior intramurals are where talent meets determination. Our senior athletes step up in basketball, table tennis, badminton and volleyball, with boys also competing in football and girls adding throwball and football 5s to their programme. Â These events prepare students for higher-level competition while nurturing leadership, responsibility and a strong sense of house pride within the school community.
Our athletes lock horns across basketball, table tennis, badminton, volleyball and throwball, with our boys pushing further into football and cricket and the girls rounding off their programme with football 5s. The focus is on competitive excellence, strategic play and the leadership qualities that extend well beyond the sports field.
Held at the start of every academic year, the Investiture Ceremony is a solemn and significant occasion that formally entrusts responsibilities to newly elected student leaders. Symbolising our faith in young people, it marks the beginning of a journey built on leadership, service, discipline and commitment. Â
Student leaders pledge to uphold the values of TIPS Erode CBSE, becoming role models who champion teamwork, strengthen unity and inspire a shared sense of prideacross the entire school community.Â
Held annually, our Sports Day is a vibrant celebration of athleticism, discipline and school spirit. Our students take part in the March Past, team games and fun races, from the sprint energy of the 50M and 100M races to the explosive power of the Long Jump.
